How This Blog Came To Be

I made a new friend yesterday who inspired me to write this post. I realized I've never shared with you all how this blog came to be. I don't remember the exact year my love for letters began but I have letters going back to when I was 7. Writing friends from school and church whom I saw every day, was where my letter writing began. There was always excitement to go out and get the mail and I still have that to this day.. and I go out in any weather condition ;) I think any letter writer can pretty much say one of the best times in the day, is when the mail arrives, am I right?

At the ending of 2008 my mom stumbled upon a blog called American Girl Fan which is where many friendships began. Through several blogs I have found some of my dearest friends and I'm so thankful to God for having them  put into my life. It's crazy to think that just through a single website you can gain so much, but I did.

I became friends with some very sweet, like-minded girls, as well as some older girls/women who share their life and journey with me. I really enjoy learning how other people live and what is important to them. Several of them I continue to write to this day. All the lovely letters I received inspired me to start a blog and share the experience with you. I had read letter blogs before but didn't correspond with them until after I had my website. It's been such a blessing these last few years getting to know others from all over the world. I love hearing from each and every person I write and am always anxious to receive mail from them. Sending off another letter is just as fun too!

How did you start writing?

Until next time,
Hannah
P.S. Thanks for sticking with me through my spacious posts. Want to get back on track soon. :)

  3. Such a good beginning Hannah. I wrote my first letter when I was in third grade. I missed my friends and family so much when we had to move each time my dad was transferred. Writing in my journals was almost as good as writing letters, so I did both. I haven't stopped. :)

  4. I loved reading about how you got started with letter writing. My story is quite familiar. I had my first pen pal when I was 8 and I have loved mail and letters ever since :)
